Soccer Star gives generously to Nepal Appeal
Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly donated £5 Million (9.7 Million AUD) to Save the Children’s Nepal Earthquake Appeal.
The Real Madrid superstar has also been encouraging his fans to contribute to relief efforts on his Facebook and Twitter pages.
French publication So Foot has reported on the donation, which is not a first for the soccer player. He has a reputation for his charitable giving, including a rumoured €60,000 for a 10-month old boy’s brain surgery last year.
The earthquake in Nepal has devastated the local population, with the death toll currently at over 8,000. The Australian Government is urging people to ensure they are donating to legitimate organisations, especially through unsolicited calls and emails.
