As the year 2014 draws to a close, the time has come to reflect on the year behind us and look forward to what the future holds.
At OKP, we are very proud of what we have achieved this year – both for our clients and the sector as a whole. The advice, strategies and resources we provided have underpinned some major achievement and helped many organisations to advance their fundraising efforts this year.
A particular highlight of 2014 was helping to expand the Giving Trends initiative and providing greater access to valuable industry research. We have received very positive feedback on the new series of Giving Trends special investigations and we look forward to bringing you more in early 2015.
It has now become tradition for OKP to forecast a key theme for each year. This year we predicted would be all about “engagement” and helping you build stronger, more fruitful relationships with your key stakeholders. Looking ahead to 2015, we see “investment” as a key issue and area of focus.
Economic uncertainty in recent years has seen many Third Sector leaders become overly risk adverse and avoid investing. A fear of failure or negative public scrutiny is not only limiting the potential of these organisations, it is also impacting the growth of our industry.
Over the coming year we hope to build the confidence of the sector by providing information and resources that support educated decision-making and calculated risk-taking. We will specifically look at investing in people, programs and innovation.
As this will be our last Blog for the year, I wanted to take the opportunity to wish you happy holidays and a prosperous New Year. The team at OKP look forward to assisting you in 2015, whether directly or through the resources we provide.
