2018 – The Year of Resilience
It has become somewhat of a tradition for the team at OKP Philanthropy and Marketing to come up with a theme for the year. Last year we focussed on acknowledging achievements with “The Year of Celebration”. In 2018, we will explore how fundraisers can deal with adversity and change, under the theme “The Year of Resilience”.
In today’s fast-paced, uncertain, economically fragile world, resilience is one of the most important qualities an organisation can possess. To be effective, charities and not-for-profit organisations, must be able to recover from setbacks, adapt well to change, and keep going in the face of adversity.
Much of the work we do at OKP is focussed on building the resilience of our clients and giving them strategies that will continue to provide benefit to them, long after our involvement has ended. We want our clients to be able to:
- Recover quickly from setbacks
- Learn from mistakes
- Adapt well to change
- Cope with uncertainty
- Have patience and a long-term view
- Thrive on competition
- Be comfortable asking for help when it is needed
- Have confidence in their vision, mission and purpose;
- Remain optimistic; and
- Keep going in the face of adversity.
We look forward to bringing you tips and tricks throughout the year that will help build resilience in your organisation and create a strong foundation for success. It is always wonderful to have input from our followers, so if there is topic you would specifically like us to address, please call us on 1300 721 799 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Resilience means you experience, you feel, you fail, you hurt.
You fall. But, you keep going.
