Westpac Bicentennial Foundation Launched

Westpac has recently unveiled its plans for a $100 million education fund.

The Westpac Bicentennial Foundation will provide 100 university scholarships each year in perpetuity,
making it the largest private education scholarship
program in Australia’s history.

According to Prime Minister Tony Abbott the announcement
by Westpac marked “a remarkable day in the history of
corporate philanthropy in our country.” He also expressed his hope that the bold move by Westpac would encourage more corporate philanthropy.

OKP shares the Prime Ministers sentiments and is actively working to advance corporate giving in Australia. We have declared May to be “Corporate Philanthropy Month” and will be undertaking a range of activities designed to expand your knowledge, inspire you with new ideas and give you the confidence to change your approach if necessary.

By drawing attention to corporate philanthropy we hope to revive flagging confidence in corporate giving and help both non-profit and corporate organisations work to develop stronger, more productive partnerships.
