Harmony Day is held every year on the 21st of March to coincide with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It’s a day to celebrate Australia’s diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home.
To coincide with Harmony Day, Giving Trends has released a special investigation titled Fundraising Without Borders that looks at how third sector organisations in Australia approach fundraising in a culturally diverse environment. At OKP we are strong advocates of a more considered approach to cultural diversity. We see that there are significant opportunities for third sector organsations to more effectively engage supporters, access new markets and contribute to a national growth in generosity.
As part of our focus on “investment” in 2015, we will be encouraging our clients and sector colleagues to invest time and resources in fundraising practices which are more culturally inclusive. Fundraising Without Borders contains some great tips from one of OKP’s expert team members on how you can do this.
