1 month until submissions on the Federal NFP draft Engagement Code closes
This month marks the third anniversary of the National Compact: working together with the release of a draft Code of Best Practice for Engagement with the not-for-profit sector.
Minister for Social Inclusion, Mark Butler says:
“The Code aims to strengthen our engagement practices with NFPs and make sure that the voice of the sector is heard.”
“The new Code would be a practical reference tool for not-for-profit organisations
and the Government when engaging on issues of public concern.”
“The Engagement Code undertakes to develop consultation materials in partnership with the NFP sector, to be clear about the purposes of consultations, to provide a broad range of methods for submission, and to provide meaningful feedback on the sector’s submissions.”
To date more than 890 not-for-profit organisations have signed up to support the National Compact so far. Organisations who haven’t already signed up are encouraged to do so. Log onto notforprofit.gov.au for more information and to sign up
Submissions on the draft Engagement Code are open until 29 April 2013.
